About Standing In The Gap

Missionaries to the Navajo Nation

I was raised in Many Farms, Arizona, and accepted Christ as my Savior at the age of 25. Two years later, I surrendered to the Lord’s call to preach and went on to serve as a Sunday school teacher at New Hope Baptist Church in Chinle, Arizona.

In 2019, I accepted the pastorate at Calvary Baptist Church. I currently reside in Cornfields, Arizona, with my wife, Tanya, and our three children—two daughters and a son. My educational journey includes graduating from Penn Foster High School and earning a Bachelor of Theology from Gloryland Bible Institute in 2019. I later earned my Master of Theology in 2021 and a Doctor of Theology in 2022 from Charity Baptist Bible Institute.

In 2025, the Lord laid a heavy burden on my heart to reach the people of the Navajo Reservation. This April 28, 2026, I officially surrendered to serve as a missionary to the Navajo people. My family and I are actively engaged in mission work across the Reservation, reaching out through tract distribution, door-knocking, and street preaching at local events like the Navajo Nation Parade.

The Navajo people need the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Bible tells us in Proverbs 29:18, “where there is no vision, the people perish.” We have a clear vision for our people: to reach the lost, establish a local church, and train young men to become the next generation of preachers.

Our Mission

The Navajo people need the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Bible tells us in Proverbs 29:18, "where there is no vision, the people perish." We have a clear vision for our people:

Reach the Lost

Faithfully proclaiming the Gospel across the Navajo Reservation through personal soulwinning, tract distribution, street preaching, and community outreach efforts.

Establish a Local Church

Planting a sound, Bible-believing local church where families can worship, serve together and grow in the Lord spiritually.

Train Young Men

Discipling and equipping young Navajo men through biblical teaching and ministry involvement to become future pastors and preachers.

Statement of Faith

From Calvary Baptist Church, Klagetoh, Arizona

WHAT WE BELIEVE
Calvary Baptist Church is a local, independent, Bible-believing congregation; preaching, teaching and practicing the Biblical principles of a New Testament Church as taught in the Word of God.

THE BIBLE
We believe the absolute, sole authoritative rule for faith and practice is the perfect, preserved Word of God, which, for English speaking people, is the AV 1611, King James Bible. (Ps. 12:6-7)

JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His vicarious death for sinners, His literal bodily resurrection and His literal bodily return to this earth to reign for a thousand years.
(1Timothy 3:16)

SALVATION
We believe that salvation is a gift of God, available to any sinner willing to repent and trust Jesus Christ’s redemptive work on Calvary as the full and complete payment for their sins. Acceptance of this gift is determined by the individual free will of the sinner, and is achieved by calling upon the Lord Jesus Christ, in believing faith, asking Him to forgive your sins and to save your soul.
(Romans 10:9-13)

Baptism
“We believe that water baptism for the regenerated believer is immersion in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:19)

ETERNAL SECURITY
We believe in the eternal security of the believer as part of the body of the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 10:28)

SEPARATION
We believe that Christians should attempt to live Godly lives and separate themselves as much as possible from the world and its lust and entanglements. That they should encourage and minister to one another and give liberally to the support of any Bible believing ministry that is actively winning people to Jesus Christ. (Romans 12:1)

CHURCH AND STATE
We believe in absolute separation of church and state and that the state has no business dictating to any local church how they should conduct their services, ministries, business, or property matters. (Acts 5:29)

SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall appear in the clouds to catch out His “bride” before Daniel’s Seventieth Week (the “Time of Jacob’s Troubles”) takes place, also known as the pre-tribulation rapture. That He will return after the “Marriage supper of the Lamb” to reign over the “House of Jacob” at Jerusalem on the “Throne of David.” (John 14:3)
